dc.description.abstract This case revolves around Cardio Care Institute (CCI), which is a prominent healthcare organisation based in Kozhikode, Kerala. CCI is known for cardiac care as its forte. The case reflects on the challenges confronted by Anjali Menon, who has recently assumed charge as the Human Resource Manager, and is grappling with issues related to training and development of CCI employees. Despite being known for its cardio-care facilities and reputation, it struggles with outdated training methods, employee disengagement, high turnover rates, and the challenges of implementing innovative training solutions. The case is set in a critical time when Anjali is assigned the responsibility of addressing these issues while establishing credibility in her new role. The case covers various aspects of human resource management, specifically focusing on training and development, employee engagement, change management, and retention in the healthcare sector. Some of the issues Anjali has to tackle include outdated and theoretical training programmes with limited practical application, high attrition and disengagement, resistance to change from senior staff, budget limitations, time constraints, and difficulty in persuading management to deploy and engage external consultants. en_US
