Abstract:
The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted all economies worldwide. The passenger car sector was sluggish since 2019 and will also have a tough road ahead due to prolonged lockdowns, restricted mobility, reduction in discretionary spending and shrinking economies. Exports will curtail, debarring revenue stability. The automobile sector will face the litmus test now. This case provides insight for bringing the supply chain from shivering to withstanding position after this roller coaster ride of Covid-19. It discusses the strategies adopted by Prema Motors, an auto dealership, to recover to the new normal and stabilize its Supply chain. The supply chain, which is a series of processes, feels disconcerted with every slight tremor in product/services, processes, people, and environment. The case attempts to devise an exit plan, which can drift Prema Motors from crisis to the next normal state in the market. It also highlights how Prema Motors can create or focus upon a framework that carries a set of activities to fight against Covid-19 and ensure business continuity (Margherita A. & Heikkilä M., 2021). Various sub-areas to ensure a smooth flow of products across the automobile supply chain and the list of actions would be prepared by the protagonist, Mr Srivastav.
